December 15, 2023

The University of Bayreuth is now a member of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI e.V.). Through its membership in the NFDI e.V., the University of Bayreuth can participate in the development processes of the NFDI and, together with other universities and research institutions actively participate in the development of an overarching research data management infrastructure. Prof. Dr. Agnes Koschmider, chair for Business & Information Systems Engineering and Process Analytics at the University of Bayreuth, represents the institution in the NFDI e.V..

As co-applicant and co-spokesperson, Prof. Agnes Koschmider is engaged in the National Research Data Infrastructure for and with Computer Science (NFDIxCS). The consortium aims to bundle and sustainably develop existing services in the field of scientific data management for computer science. The aim is to promote the development of an organizational and technical infrastructure for computer science. The focus here is on the FAIR principles: Research data should be findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

The University of Bayreuth supports the sustainable preservation and availability of research data and strives for a high standard in the handling of research data and its documentation. A team (FMD@UBT) with staff from the Research Funding Service, the University Library and the IT Service Center provides support for university members in research data management.
